Number 1205 of 3500 copies thus, SIGNED by George Harrison in brown ink to a label on the front pastedown.

If you’re a Beatles fan, if you enjoy music biographies, or if you just want to know more about a private man who lived much of his life in the spotlight, you won't be disappointed with George Harrison The Reluctant Beatle. The track is driven by Weeks' bassline and includes Polymoog synthesizer soloing from Steve Winwood. And it’ll probably put the kibosh on your talking to anyone else,” the Apple man said, meaning the word would go out to all those who’d ever been close to George to shun me. In his own words I ME MINE now covers the full span of Harrison's life and work with lyrics to 141 songs (more than 50 of which are new to this edition), an extended text commentary and new photographs. The kindest thing you can say is, to include the whole story and all the details, a multi volume biography would be necessary.Originally issued as a signed, limited edition in 1980, this first trade edition of his biography is liberally illustrated with an archive of photographs, and lyrics to a great many of his songs. Harrison was always curious, whether it was trying LSD or embracing a Hindu ethic, with its music and philosophies. Rightly praised for his efforts to raise funds for victims of floods in Shankar’s ancestral Bangladesh, his private persona proved at odds. His second wife, Olivia – an inconspicuous presence until the night in 1999 when she saved him from becoming the second Beatle to be murdered – issued a statement on behalf of herself and their son, Dhani, urging his fans to try not to grieve too much. There are better books if you want a Beatles chronology but if you are interested in the “quiet” Beatle, this is a good biography.

It was published in 1980 as a hand-bound, limited edition book by Genesis Publications, with a mixture of printed text and multi-colour facsimiles of Harrison's handwritten song lyrics. This edition has been expanded to include 59 new songs; as well as tracks written for The Beatles, it also contains lyrics from Harrison’s solo career, including his albums All Things Must Pass and Brainwashed. In October that year, "Lay His Head" was released as the B-side to " Got My Mind Set on You", [37] the lead single from Cloud Nine. Despite his religious convictions, Harrison led an interesting life and it's all detailed in this book in 530 pages.

He also famously had an icy relationship with John and Paul (mostly Paul), and even ended up falling out with his beloved sister, Lou, who was partly responsible for getting the Beatles on the map in America. My son read it a few years ago and savored it also, finding its depth of information useful prior to his interview as a Beatles historian. In the only video I've seen of Frank Sinatra singing Something, he definitely attributes it to George Harrison.
